Terms and Conditions of Use of NZ Laptop Wholesale
These Terms and Conditions explain the rules that apply when you use the NZ Laptop Wholesale website, place an order or purchase equipment from us.
They should be read together with our Returns, Repairs and Warranty Support, Warranty Information, Freight Information, Condition Grading and Privacy Policy pages.
Last updated: July 2026
1. About These Terms
In these Terms and Conditions:
- “NZ Laptop Wholesale”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean NZ Laptop Wholesale and the legal entity identified as the supplier on your invoice.
- “Customer”, “you” and “your” mean the person or organisation using our website or purchasing equipment from us.
- “Website” means the NZ Laptop Wholesale website at nzlw.co.nz.
- “Equipment”, “goods” and “products” include computers, laptops, desktops, monitors, tablets, accessories and other products supplied by us.
By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
If you purchase equipment on behalf of a company or another organisation, you confirm that you have authority to enter into the purchase on its behalf.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded under New Zealand law.
2. Using Our Website
You may use our website for lawful personal or business purposes, including browsing products, requesting information and placing orders.
You must not:
- Use the website for an unlawful, fraudulent or harmful purpose.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, its accounts, servers or connected systems.
- Introduce malware, harmful code or automated activity that may disrupt the website.
- Misrepresent your identity or provide deliberately false information.
- Copy or commercially reuse website content without permission.
We may suspend or restrict access to the website where reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, misuse prevention or legal compliance.
3. Product Information and Refurbished Condition
NZ Laptop Wholesale primarily sells professionally refurbished and ex-lease technology. Unless a product is clearly described as new, customers should expect that it has been previously used.
Refurbished equipment may show reasonable signs of previous use, including light marks, scratches, wear or other cosmetic variation.
Product condition is explained through our product listings and Condition Grading information. Products identified as B Grade, clearance or Less-Than-Perfect may have more noticeable cosmetic wear or specific limitations that will be described where reasonably practical.
Cosmetic marks or limitations clearly disclosed before purchase are not treated as new or undisclosed faults.
We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, specifications, photos and compatibility information are accurate. However:
- Product images may occasionally be representative of the model rather than the exact physical unit.
- Minor cosmetic differences may exist between individual refurbished units.
- Manufacturer specifications may cover several configurations of the same model.
- Customers should rely on the specifications stated in the individual NZ Laptop Wholesale product listing.
If the equipment supplied does not match the material specifications or description in your order, please contact us promptly so we can investigate.
4. Product Suitability and Compatibility
Customers are responsible for checking that a product is suitable for their intended use before ordering.
Please contact us before purchase if you require a specific:
- Port, connection or video output.
- Operating system or software feature.
- Docking station or charger compatibility.
- Screen resolution or display connection.
- Hardware specification or upgrade option.
- Compatibility with specialist software, peripherals or business systems.
Where you tell us about a particular purpose or compatibility requirement before purchase, we will take reasonable care when providing guidance.
General website information is provided to help customers make informed decisions, but it is not professional legal, accounting, financial or specialist technical advice.
5. Orders and Contract Acceptance
Submitting an order through our website is an offer to purchase the products shown in the order.
An automatic order acknowledgement confirms that we have received your order. It does not necessarily mean that the order has been finally accepted.
We may review an order before accepting it, including checking:
- Product availability.
- Pricing and product information.
- Payment authorisation.
- Delivery details.
- Suspected fraud or security concerns.
An order is accepted when we confirm acceptance, begin preparing the equipment for dispatch, advise that it is ready for collection or otherwise confirm that we will supply it.
We may contact you if information is missing or if an order requires clarification.
6. Product Availability
Many refurbished products are available in limited quantities, and some listings represent one-off stock.
Although our website is updated regularly, an item may occasionally become unavailable after an order is submitted.
If we cannot supply an ordered item, we may offer:
- A substantially comparable replacement.
- An alternative product for your approval.
- A refund of the amount paid for the unavailable item.
We will not substitute a materially different product without discussing it with you first.
7. Pricing and GST
Unless clearly stated otherwise, prices displayed to retail customers on our website:
- Are in New Zealand dollars.
- Include Goods and Services Tax.
- Exclude freight, rural delivery charges and optional services unless these are expressly included.
Business quotations, trade pricing or specially negotiated pricing may be shown excluding GST where this is clearly stated.
The purchase price covers the equipment and included items described in the product listing. Installation, data transfer, onsite service, specialist configuration and ongoing maintenance are not included unless expressly stated.
Prices and promotions may change before an order is accepted. Once an order has been accepted, we will not change its agreed product price except where the customer approves a change to the order.
8. Pricing and Listing Errors
We take reasonable care when publishing product prices, specifications and availability, but genuine errors or omissions may occasionally occur.
If we identify a material pricing or listing error before accepting an order, we may:
- Contact you and offer the product at the correct price or specification.
- Offer a suitable alternative.
- Cancel the affected item and provide a full refund of any amount paid for it.
We will not rely on an errors and omissions clause to avoid obligations relating to misleading information, incorrect goods or other rights that apply under New Zealand law.
9. Payment
Available payment methods are shown at checkout or stated on your invoice or quotation.
Card payments are processed through a third-party payment provider using its secure payment systems. NZ Laptop Wholesale does not receive or store your complete payment card number through the normal website checkout process.
Payment must be received or otherwise approved before equipment is dispatched or released for collection, unless we have agreed to account terms in writing.
You confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method provided.
If a payment is reversed, declined or disputed without a valid basis, we may place the order on hold and seek payment of any outstanding amount.
10. Fraud Prevention and Order Verification
We may request reasonable identity, address or payment verification before accepting or dispatching an order where:
- The order has been flagged by a payment or fraud-prevention system.
- The billing and delivery information differs significantly.
- The order is unusually large or otherwise requires confirmation.
- We have reasonable security concerns.
We will only request information reasonably necessary to verify the transaction and will handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
11. Delivery Areas and Addresses
Website orders are available for delivery within New Zealand unless we expressly agree otherwise.
Customers must provide a complete and accurate delivery address, including any relevant unit number, business name, rural delivery information and contact telephone number.
Additional charges may apply where:
- The delivery address is rural or remote.
- Incorrect or incomplete address information causes redelivery.
- The parcel is returned to us because delivery could not be completed.
- A special delivery method is requested.
We may contact you before dispatch if an additional rural or special-delivery charge applies.
12. Delivery Timeframes
Delivery timeframes shown on our website or provided by our team are estimates rather than guaranteed delivery dates.
Delivery time can be affected by the destination, courier network, rural delivery, public holidays, weather, transport disruptions and other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We will dispatch accepted orders within a reasonable period and provide tracking information where available.
If there is a material delay, please contact us so we can investigate with the courier.
Nothing in this section limits any rights relating to delivery within an agreed or reasonable time under applicable New Zealand law.
13. Split and Partial Deliveries
We may send an order in more than one parcel where this is practical, including where products are stored separately or require different packaging.
Where an order is split into multiple parcels:
- You may receive more than one tracking number.
- The parcels may arrive at different times.
- You will not be charged additional freight unless this was agreed before dispatch.
14. Delivery Damage, Missing Items and Lost Parcels
Please inspect your order as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
If a parcel or product appears damaged:
- Take clear photos of the outer packaging and courier label.
- Take clear photos of the affected equipment.
- Keep all packaging while the matter is being assessed.
- Contact us promptly with your order number and details of the damage.
Signing for a parcel does not automatically prevent you from reporting concealed or subsequently discovered delivery damage.
Prompt notification and clear photos help us investigate a delivery claim with the courier.
If tracking shows that an order has been delivered but you cannot locate it, please check:
- Around the delivery address and any safe-drop location.
- With other members of the household or workplace.
- With neighbours, reception or building management where applicable.
Please contact us promptly if the parcel remains missing so we can request delivery information from the courier.
15. Warehouse Collection
Customers may collect approved orders from our Rosedale warehouse when a collection option has been agreed.
Please wait until we have confirmed that the order is ready before arriving.
We may request the order number and reasonable identification before releasing equipment.
If another person is collecting on your behalf, please advise us before collection.
16. Ownership and Risk
Ownership of equipment remains with NZ Laptop Wholesale until the full purchase price and any agreed charges have been paid.
For courier orders, responsibility for the equipment transfers to the customer when delivery is completed, subject to any rights and obligations applying under New Zealand law.
For collected orders, responsibility transfers when the equipment is handed to the customer or their authorised representative.
17. Returns and RMA Numbers
Before returning equipment by courier, customers must contact NZ Laptop Wholesale and obtain a Return Merchandise Authorisation number, commonly called an RMA number.
An RMA number:
- Records the return in our system.
- Connects the equipment with the customer and order.
- Records the reported issue or reason for return.
- Helps us process the equipment more efficiently.
Issuing an RMA number confirms that the return has been recorded. It does not automatically confirm that a warranty claim, refund, replacement or change-of-mind return has been approved.
Customers are welcome to drop equipment at our Rosedale warehouse. An RMA number is strongly recommended before visiting so the return can be identified and processed promptly.
Full return instructions are provided on our Returns, Repairs and Warranty Support page.
18. Dead-on-Arrival Equipment
Equipment is generally considered dead on arrival when it arrives faulty or unusable from the outset.
If you believe equipment is dead on arrival, please contact us promptly and do not arrange a return until we have reviewed the issue.
Where NZ Laptop Wholesale accepts a return as dead on arrival, we will arrange or cover the reasonable cost of returning the equipment to us.
We may ask for photos, troubleshooting information or other details to help confirm the fault and determine the appropriate return method.
19. Return to Base Warranty Freight
Our standard written warranty is a Return to Base warranty, commonly referred to as RTB.
Where a fault develops after delivery:
- The customer is normally responsible for arranging and paying the inbound freight to NZ Laptop Wholesale.
- If the fault is covered under warranty, NZ Laptop Wholesale will pay the freight cost of sending the repaired or replacement equipment back to the customer.
- If no covered fault is found, the customer may be responsible for redelivery freight and applicable assessment charges.
These RTB freight terms do not limit any entitlement to reasonable return costs that may apply under the Consumer Guarantees Act.
Full warranty information is available on our Warranty Information page.
20. Packaging Returned Equipment
Customers must package returned equipment securely and protect it from damage during transport.
Returned equipment should be packed using:
- The original packaging where it remains suitable.
- A strong outer box.
- Adequate cushioning around all sides.
- Protection for screens, corners, hinges and other vulnerable areas.
- Separation between screens and loose chargers, stands or accessories.
The RMA number should be included inside the parcel.
NZ Laptop Wholesale is not responsible for damage caused by inadequate packaging or transport independently arranged by the customer, except to the extent required by law.
21. Customer Data and Backups
Customers are responsible for backing up all important files and personal information before returning equipment.
Our technicians will keep the preservation of customer data in mind and, where reasonably possible, will leave it intact.
However, testing, diagnosis or repair may require:
- A storage drive to be wiped or replaced.
- The computer to be reset.
- Windows or other software to be reinstalled.
- A replacement device to be supplied.
NZ Laptop Wholesale cannot guarantee that data will remain intact during assessment, repair or replacement.
Customers should remove USB drives, memory cards and unrelated personal storage devices before returning equipment.
22. No-Fault-Found and Non-Warranty Assessments
We assess warranty claims in good faith and will investigate the reported issue before deciding on the appropriate remedy.
If testing shows that the equipment is not faulty, or that the issue is outside the applicable warranty, the customer may be responsible for:
- Inbound or redelivery freight.
- A testing fee of $65 per hour.
- Replacement parts.
- Any non-warranty repair approved by the customer.
Examples may include:
- The reported fault cannot be reproduced after reasonable testing.
- The issue is caused by software, settings, malware or a third-party service.
- The issue is caused by an external device, cable or accessory.
- The equipment has been accidentally damaged or misused.
- The issue relates to normal wear and tear.
- The issue relates to a condition clearly disclosed before purchase.
We will discuss chargeable repairs or additional work before proceeding.
Testing fees and non-warranty charges do not apply where the customer is entitled to a remedy without charge under applicable New Zealand consumer law.
23. Change-of-Mind Returns
A customer is not automatically entitled to return a product because they have changed their mind, found another product elsewhere or decided that the equipment is no longer required.
NZ Laptop Wholesale may accept a change-of-mind return where the request is made promptly and the equipment is returned complete and in suitable condition for resale.
Approved change-of-mind returns are subject to the following conditions:
- The customer must contact us and receive an RMA number before sending the product back.
- The customer is responsible for return freight.
- Original delivery charges are not refundable.
- The product must be returned complete and in suitable condition for resale.
- All chargers, cables, stands and accessories originally supplied must be returned.
- A 15% restocking fee will be deducted from the approved refund.
The 15% restocking fee will be waived where the customer purchases another product from NZ Laptop Wholesale as part of the return or exchange.
Any difference in the price of the replacement product remains payable.
These change-of-mind conditions do not apply where the customer is entitled to a remedy for faulty, incorrectly described or otherwise non-compliant equipment.
24. Seven-Day Right of Return for B Grade Products
The seven-day right of return applies only to products sold and clearly identified as B Grade.
A qualifying B Grade product may be returned within seven days of receiving or collecting it if the customer decides it is not suitable.
The following conditions apply:
- The customer must contact us within seven days of receiving or collecting the product.
- An RMA number should be obtained before returning the product.
- The customer is responsible for return freight.
- Original delivery charges are not refundable.
- The product must be returned complete and in the condition in which it was received.
- All chargers, cables, stands and accessories originally supplied must be returned.
The standard 15% change-of-mind restocking fee does not apply to a qualifying B Grade product returned within its seven-day return period.
Cosmetic wear, marks or limitations clearly disclosed on the B Grade product listing are not treated as undisclosed faults.
The seven-day return option is additional to the written warranty and any rights applying under New Zealand law.
25. Order Changes and Customer Cancellations
Please contact us promptly if you need to change or cancel an order.
We may be able to cancel or amend an order before it has been prepared or dispatched.
If an order has already been dispatched, configured, upgraded or otherwise prepared specifically for the customer, the request may be treated as a change-of-mind return and applicable freight or restocking charges may apply.
Special-order products, custom work and services already completed may not be fully refundable where costs have already been reasonably incurred.
Nothing in this section limits any cancellation right that applies under New Zealand law.
26. Cancellation by NZ Laptop Wholesale
We may decline or cancel an order before supply where:
- The product is unavailable.
- A material pricing or listing error has occurred.
- Payment has not been received or authorised.
- Delivery information is incomplete or cannot reasonably be serviced.
- We reasonably suspect fraud, unlawful activity or a security risk.
- Supplying the order would breach a legal requirement.
If we cancel an order after payment has been received, we will refund the amount paid for the cancelled products and any related service that has not been supplied.
27. Warranty and Consumer Rights
Unless otherwise stated on the product listing, invoice or order confirmation, refurbished equipment is supplied with our standard 90-day Return to Base warranty.
Selected products may be eligible for additional warranty cover, as shown on the product listing or invoice.
Our written warranty operates in addition to rights that may apply under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act.
For consumer purchases, rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act may continue beyond the written warranty period. What is reasonable may depend on factors including:
- The product’s age.
- The purchase price.
- Its refurbished or second-hand condition.
- Any wear or limitations disclosed before purchase.
- The intended use.
- The type of equipment and its reasonably expected lifespan.
Full details are provided on our Warranty Information page.
28. Business and Trade Purchases
Customers purchasing equipment primarily for business or trade use should ensure that the equipment and warranty terms are appropriate for their requirements.
Where equipment is acquired in trade, the parties may agree in writing that specified provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act do not apply, but only where contracting out is legally permitted and fair and reasonable.
Any agreement to contract out of the Consumer Guarantees Act must be clearly recorded in writing. It will not be inferred solely from a customer placing an ordinary retail website order.
Separate commercial quotations, bulk supply agreements, account terms or service agreements may contain additional conditions.
29. Software, Operating Systems and Licences
Software and operating systems supplied with equipment remain subject to the relevant software owner’s licence terms.
Unless expressly stated otherwise:
- Third-party applications are not included.
- Subscriptions and cloud services are not included.
- Customers are responsible for their own accounts, licences and subscriptions.
- Compatibility with specialist or legacy software is not guaranteed.
Please contact us before purchase if a particular operating system edition, application or licence is essential to your intended use.
30. Privacy and Personal Information
We collect and use personal information to:
- Respond to enquiries.
- Process and deliver orders.
- Manage payments and fraud prevention.
- Administer accounts, returns and warranty requests.
- Provide customer support.
- Meet legal and record-keeping obligations.
Further information about how we handle personal information is available in our Privacy Policy.
31. Transactional and Marketing Emails
We may send transactional emails that are reasonably necessary to:
- Respond to an enquiry.
- Confirm or update an order.
- Provide payment or delivery information.
- Administer an account.
- Provide technical, return or warranty support.
Marketing and promotional messages will only be sent where an appropriate form of consent or other lawful basis applies.
Marketing emails will identify the sender and include a functioning unsubscribe option. Unsubscribe requests will be actioned as required by New Zealand law.
Entering into ordinary email communication with us does not, by itself, automatically subscribe a person to all promotional marketing.
32. Third-Party Websites and Services
Our website may link to websites or services operated by third parties, including couriers, payment providers, manufacturers and social media platforms.
Links are provided for convenience and do not necessarily represent an endorsement of all third-party content.
Third-party websites are governed by their own terms, privacy policies and availability. NZ Laptop Wholesale does not control their content or operation.
33. Website Availability and Security
We aim to keep the website available, accurate and secure, but we do not guarantee that it will always operate without interruption or error.
The website may occasionally be unavailable due to:
- Maintenance or updates.
- Hosting or network disruption.
- Cybersecurity incidents.
- Third-party service failure.
- Events outside our reasonable control.
Customers are responsible for maintaining reasonable security on their own devices, accounts and internet connections.
34. Intellectual Property
The website’s design, written content, logos, graphics, original photographs and other intellectual property are owned by or licensed to NZ Laptop Wholesale unless otherwise stated.
You may view, print or save reasonable portions of the website for personal use, purchase records or internal business reference.
You may not reproduce, republish, sell, scrape, distribute or commercially exploit our content without prior written permission, except where permitted by law.
Manufacturer names, product names and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
35. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability or customer rights where doing so would be unlawful.
To the extent permitted by law, NZ Laptop Wholesale is not responsible for:
- Indirect or consequential loss arising solely from use of, or inability to access, the website.
- Loss caused by a customer providing incorrect information.
- Loss caused by customer misuse, accidental damage or failure to follow instructions.
- Loss of customer data where the customer did not complete an appropriate backup before repair or return.
- Third-party services, websites, software or equipment that we do not control.
Any limitation of liability applying to a business or trade purchase remains subject to the specific written agreement and applicable law.
36. Customer Responsibility for Website Misuse
To the extent permitted by law, a customer is responsible for reasonable loss directly caused by their deliberate unlawful use of the website, fraudulent conduct or material breach of these terms.
This section does not require a customer to compensate NZ Laptop Wholesale for loss that was caused by us or that could not reasonably have been anticipated.
37. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control
Neither party will be responsible for delay or failure caused by an event outside its reasonable control, except for obligations that can still reasonably be performed.
Such events may include:
- Natural disasters or severe weather.
- Fire, flood or earthquake.
- Transport or courier network disruption.
- Power, internet or telecommunications failure.
- Government restrictions.
- Industrial action.
- Widespread supply-chain disruption.
We will take reasonable steps to communicate material delays and resume performance when reasonably possible.
38. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions to reflect changes to our business, website, products, services or legal obligations.
The version published on the website at the time an order is accepted will generally apply to that order, together with any specific terms stated on the product listing, quotation, order confirmation or invoice.
Changes will not retrospectively remove rights that have already arisen.
39. Inconsistency Between Documents
If there is an inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and another NZ Laptop Wholesale document, the following order of priority will generally apply:
- Any specific written agreement expressly accepted by both parties.
- The product listing, quotation, order confirmation or invoice for the particular purchase.
- The specific terms on our Returns or Warranty Information pages.
- These general Terms and Conditions.
Nothing in this order of priority limits any rights that cannot legally be excluded.
40. Severability
If any part of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, that part will be modified or removed only to the extent necessary.
The remaining terms will continue to apply.
41. Waiver
If either party does not immediately enforce a right or remedy, that does not mean the right or remedy has been permanently waived.
A waiver of a material term must be clearly confirmed in writing by an authorised person.
42. Assignment
A customer may not transfer their contractual rights or obligations to another person without our prior written agreement, except where a transfer is permitted by law.
NZ Laptop Wholesale may transfer its rights or obligations as part of a legitimate sale, restructure or transfer of the business, provided this does not reduce customer rights.
43. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by New Zealand law.
Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts and tribunals, unless the parties agree to another lawful dispute-resolution process.
44. Questions and Contact Details
